The ANR project APOWA aims at designing and analyzing a posteriori error estimators and adaptive finite element methods for time-dependent wave propagation problems. Specifically, the overarching goals of the project are to:
(i) provide guaranteed bounds on the errors incurred by finite element discretizations, leading to fully reliable numerical simulations,
(ii) produce discretization meshes tailored to the solution, enabling faster simulation procedures.
