Distinguished Student Paper Award<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As in recent years, the program committee may choose to award a ‘Distinguished Student Paper Award’ to the authors of a student paper, i.e., a paper that was authored solely or primarily by researchers who have not received a doctoral degree yet.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year’s Distinguished Student Paper Award was given to Leif Sabellek for the paper “Ontology-Mediated Querying with EL: Trichotomy and Linear Datalog Rewritability” (co-authored with Carsten Lutz). Congratulations to Leif!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Student Grants<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A limited number of student grants are available for participation in DL 2017. Each grant will cover the student registration fee and may additionally include a contribution towards travel costs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grants will be given to motivated students that are genuinely interested in attending the workshop and lack sufficient funding. Preference will be given to the students who have a paper (or abstract) accepted in DL 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

The students who are interested in applying for a grant must write until May 22nd<\/strong> an email to the workshop organizers at dl2017@lirmm.fr<\/a> with the subject line “DL 2017 Application for student support” declaring their interest in the student grant and providing with the following information:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Personal details: name, contact information (email), institution, current level of studies, thesis topic and supervisor (if applicable).
\n\u2022 A short statement of motivation for attending the workshop.
\n\u2022 A letter from your supervisor\/program director confirming that you are a full time student and that your workshop participation cannot be financed by other means.
\n\u2022 Please indicate whether you have a paper (or abstract) submitted to the workshop.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We will acknowledge the receipt of applications within 3 working days.<\/span><\/p>\n

The notifications about grants will be sent out by June 15th.<\/span><\/p>\n
