Mob Sci-Dat Factory (PC3) is one of the three flagship projects of the PEPR MOBIDEC (“Digitalisation et Décarbonation des Mobilités”), focusing on the mobility of people and goods, an initiative within the France 2030 program for financing strategic investments. The project is funded by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) in France.

The Mob Sci-Dat Factory shares the PEPR’s primary objective of contributing to the development of more sustainable mobility strategies. It supports this goal by providing decision-support methodologies, a digital toolbox, and insights into transport uses and mobility behaviors. To achieve these objectives, the project addresses major scientific and technological challenges related to mobility data, including availability, accessibility, heterogeneity, quality, representativity, governance, and privacy. The project aims to clarify and characterize the factors that determine the properties of mobility data. It develops methods and digital tools for processing, calibrating, enriching, and exploiting heterogeneous, multi-source mobility data.

By bringing together data, methods, and infrastructure, MobSciData Factory seeks to overcome the fragmentation of existing initiatives and to support reproducible, interoperable, and scalable mobility research, as well as the energy and digital transitions in mobility (identified in the EARPA Position Paper on Future Mobility for People and Goods 2020). The project also contributes to the objectives of the European Green Deal (2019) by supporting the collection, connection, and availability of data in support of sustainability and multimodality.
