Recent advances in deep learning, implicit representation and physics-based character simulation have contributed to a breakthrough in avatar design, simulation, control, rendering and interaction. NGA2025 is a half-day workshop associated with the IEEE VR conference with the goal to generate discussions on the latest research related to these issues in a cross-community approach, including research from the VR community, but more broadly, research that contributes to the simulation and use of synthetic avatars.
After scientific presentations, showcasing the latest research advances in avatar representation, simulation and control, a round table will help to imagine the next generation of avatars, and their impact on user experience.
