Dr. Philipp Cimiano is a full Professor and the head of the Semantic Computing Group at Bielefeld University. He is also affiliated with the Cognitive Interaction Technology Excellence Cluster. Before joining the University of Bielefeld, he was an assistant professor at Delft University of Technology (2008-2009) and a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute AIFB of Universität Kalsruhe (TH). His PhD research was on the topic of learning ontologies from text and led to the publication of a book at Springer Verlag with the title “Ontology Learning from Text: Algorithms, Evaluation and Applications”. He has published over 60 research papers in the areas of Natural Language Processing, Ontology Learning, Ontologies, Knowledge Acquisition and Semantic Web. He was nominated one of “AI’s 10 to Watch” by the IEEE Intelligent Systems Magazine in 2008, an award given to the top 10 young researchers in the field of artificial intelligence worldwide. He was general chair of ESWC 2013.
Dr. Jean-Michel Dalle is full Professor at UPMC and Director of the science-based incubator Agoranov. His teaching and research interests focus on the management and economics of innovation. His research activities have resulted in numerous publications in international journals and conferences. He is a former Visiting Fellow of All Souls College at the University of Oxford and also leads Agoranov, where more than 150 new companies were created over the past twelve years, resulting in more than 3700 jobs and 320 MEUR of capital raised.
Dr. Fabien Gandon is research Director in Informatics and Computer Science at Inria and Leader of the Wimmics team at the Sophia-Antipolis Research Center (Inria, I3S). Fabien is also the Inria representative at the World-Wide Web Consortium (W3C) where he participated in several standardization groups. His professional interests include: Web, Semantic Web, Social Web, Ontologies, Knowledge Engineering and Modelling, Mobility, Privacy, Context-Awareness, Semantic Social Network / Semantic Analysis of Social Network, Intraweb, Distributed Artificial Intelligence. Fabien previously worked for the Mobile Commerce Laboratory of Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh and was General Co-chair of WWW 2012, Program Co-chair ESWC 2014 and General Chair ESWC 2015.
