Title: Optimal control in ferromagnetism: minimal time to reverse the magnetization

Abstract

In this presentation, we consider a ferromagnetic material with an ellipsoidal geometry immersed in an external magnetic field. In this case, the material magnetization satisfies the Landau-Lifshitz equation. We are interested in the following question: can we reserve the material magnetization in minimal time using the external magnetic field as a control variable ? We will see that, under the ellipsoidal geometry assumption, there exists a threshold value of the magnetic field that enables to reverse the magnetization.
