Title:
Virtual Element Methods: very-basic features and applications to magnetostatic problems.
Abstract :
The presentation will be split into two parts. The first part (by F. Brezzi) will start with a soft introduction to numerical methods for polygonal/polyhedral decompositions and then recall the very basic ideas and features of the Virtual Element Methods. The second part (by L.D. Marini) instead will concentrate on a specific application (Magnetostatic problems in 3D) and present a lowest order method that can be seen as the most natural generalization of the lowest-order Nédélec elements to polyhedral decompositions.
