Lifelong Learning\u00a0 is\u00a0 becoming\u00a0 a\u00a0 central\u00a0 asset,\u00a0 beginning\u00a0 during\u00a0 initial\u00a0 training\u00a0 at\u00a0 university,\u00a0 but currently\u00a0 there\u00a0 is\u00a0 a\u00a0 lack\u00a0 of\u00a0 appropriate\u00a0 tools\u00a0 and methods\u00a0 combining\u00a0 self-reflective\u00a0 learning support and social interactions. Learner empowerment relates to the ability for a person to be able\u00a0 to\u00a0 define\u00a0 his\/her\u00a0 own\u00a0 learning\u00a0 path\u00a0 and\u00a0 act\u00a0 on\u00a0 his\/her\u00a0 environment,\u00a0 including\u00a0 peer learning. It is a prerequisite for autonomy, to become a full citizen.<\/p>\n<p>Self-regulated\u00a0 learning\u00a0 methods,\u00a0 learner\u00a0 models\u00a0 and\u00a0 trust\u00a0 are\u00a0 key\u00a0 issues\u00a0 to\u00a0 support lifelong\u00a0 learning.\u00a0 The\u00a0 mastering\u00a0 of\u00a0 self-regulated learning\u00a0 methods\u00a0 is\u00a0 enhanced\u00a0 by\u00a0 digital tools,\u00a0 as\u00a0 the\u00a0 willingness\u00a0 to\u00a0 develop\u00a0 digital\u00a0 literacy\u00a0 prove\u00a0 it.\u00a0 Learner\u00a0 models\u00a0 designed\u00a0 to develop\u00a0 such\u00a0 instrumentation\u00a0 lack\u00a0 a\u00a0 real\u00a0 collaboration\u00a0 between\u00a0 learning\u00a0 process\u00a0 support needs\u00a0 and\u00a0 new\u00a0 opportunities\u00a0 provided\u00a0 by\u00a0 data\u00a0 availability.\u00a0 Current\u00a0 support\u00a0 thanks\u00a0 to reflexive\u00a0 instrumentation\u00a0 is\u00a0 still\u00a0 very\u00a0 basic,\u00a0 related\u00a0 to\u00a0 short\u00a0 term\u00a0 or\u00a0 specific\u00a0 data.\u00a0 Trust\u00a0 in tools\u00a0 is\u00a0 becoming\u00a0 a\u00a0 central\u00a0 concern\u00a0 in\u00a0 digital\u00a0 society,\u00a0 especially\u00a0 when\u00a0 personal\u00a0 data\u00a0 are handled, as it is the case in learning. When trust is ensured, new innovative services may be designed that empower people and change their usage.<\/p>\n<p>Self-regulated learning process, learner models, and trust are hence tightly coupled.
