From Networks to Knowledge: Graphs in the Age of Machine Learning
Graphs represent an intuitive and powerful way to organize the data. Yet, with the predominant discourse towards natural language models, there is a current delusion that graphs might have lost their appeal. In this talk, I will argue that this delusion is probably an illusion and that graphs in any shape, from semantically rich property graphs to simple networks, offer a convenient model for understanding and disentangle the complexities of machine learning models. I will introduce the current endeavour towards more reliable, interpretable, and fast approaches to navigate knowledge, so as to empower language models with robust and dependable answers.
