In this edition, we would like to warmly congratulate Inria researcher Xavier Pennec for his European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant! Xavier, from the EPIONE research team in Sophia Antipolis, is the co-leader of the Inria@SiliconValley associate team Geomstats on « Geometric Statistics in Computational Anatomy: Non Linear Subspace Learning Beyond the Riemannian Structure » with Stanford University (Susan Holmes) and USC. Xavier tells us about his research, the ERC grant and the Geomstats collaboration.

Two calls are currently open: the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action Individual Fellowships (MSCA-IF) and the European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant. Also this month we would like to advertise two import calls to support your Inria-California collaborations :
• The Inria@SiliconValley Post-doc fellowship call: deadline is extended to May 11th!
• The Inria International Chair program: deadline is September 30th
Last but not least, we would like to highlight the Women in Tech Initiative @UC that honored Women’s History Month in March and whose commitment is to address the disproportionate participation of women in engineering and computer science fields by serving as a trusted center and resource that integrates research with action anchored at the University of California.
