

{"id":233,"date":"2012-03-26T09:27:28","date_gmt":"2012-03-26T08:27:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/project.inria.fr\/inria-siliconvalley\/?page_id=233"},"modified":"2019-06-25T10:48:20","modified_gmt":"2019-06-25T09:48:20","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/project.inria.fr\/siliconvalley\/","title":{"rendered":"About the Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Collaborations between\u00a0Inria project-teams and American Universities have been developing for many years, thus providing a strong basis for addressing\u00a0scientific, economic and societal challenges on international priorities, in the context of win-win partnerships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Since 2011<\/strong>, Inria runs <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8220;<strong>Inria@SiliconValley&#8221;<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">,\u00a0<\/span> <\/span>an active scientific joint program with California universities, that initially started with\u00a0<strong>UC Berkeley and Stanford University, and has now expanded to all California partners .<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The program :<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Strengthens\u00a0and structures existing collaboration<\/strong>s\u00a0between Inria research teams and California universities<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fosters the creation of research and innovation collaborative projects<\/strong>\u00a0addressing scientific challenges of the digital society.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Provides networking opportunities<\/strong> among which the organization of scientific events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Since 2018, the program supports joint research projects on the following topics:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Digital Sciences &amp; Technologies for Smart &amp; Connected Communities<\/li>\n<li>Digital Sciences &amp; Technologies for Health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From 2010 to 2018, an Inria senior researcher was in charge of supervising and animating the program and of fostering new collaborative projects:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Malik Ghallab (2010- 2011)<br \/>\n\u2022 Christine Morin (2011-2013)<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #525151;\">\u2022 Val\u00e9rie Issarny (2013-2018)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This program supports joint research projects called<a href=\"http:\/\/project.inria.fr\/siliconvalley\/research\/associate-teams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0associate teams,<\/a>\u00a0each of them involving a research group from a California university and one from an\u00a0<a title=\"(English) Research at Inria\" href=\"https:\/\/project.inria.fr\/inria-siliconvalley\/research-at-inria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inria research center<\/a>.
