To this end, one has to evaluate joint constraints, such as joint torques and forces. Preliminary work has shown the relevance of studying these constraints thanks to inverse dynamics approaches. These works enables us to identify parameters that are supposed to be linked to musculoskeletal disorders. It could be applied to various physical activities, such as cycling on long distances or tennis serving. To fulfill the natural constraints of sports practice, one has also to consider fatigue. Indeed, long time competitions in tennis may affect the way the player perform tennis serve and consequently alter the associated joint constraints. In the same way, maintaining an efficient posture for a long time in cycling affects the cycling pattern and consequently produce asymmetrical motions which are considered as potential source of pathologies<\/span> <span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>About the speake<\/em><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>r<\/em><\/span>:\u00a0<span class=\"author-a-z69zz73zz87zz66z6z65zsz70z2qafz65z9te\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/profile\/Benoit_Bideau\">Benoit Bideau<\/a> is associate professor in University Rennes 2, specialized in Biomechanics and new technologies applied to sports and human performance. He is the head of the M2S Lab &#8220;Motion, Sports and Health&#8221; in sports sciences in Rennes, and is member of the Inria MimeTIC team. His research works deal with kinematic and dynamic modelling of human motion, in order to identify criterions about human motion efficiency. A second objective consists in exploring the relationship between these criterions and the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders. His research works also addressed the perception-action loop in duels in sports, using new technologies, such as virtual reality.
