Cybersecurity covers the protection of physical systems, computer networks, software and data, as well as users\u2019 awareness and understanding of rules and procedures related to the use of these systems.<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.france-science.org\/FADEx-2017-Cybersecurity-EN.html\">https:\/\/www.france-science.org\/FADEx-2017-Cybersecurity-EN.html<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #266d83;\">Topics of interest: <\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Cryptography <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Formal methods and theory of security <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Security services <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Intrusion\/anomaly detection and malware mitigation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Systems security<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Network security<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Database and storage security<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Software and application security<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Human and societal aspects of security and privacy<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Within the framework of the FADEx program, the Office for Science and Technology will invite a group of American Ph.D. candidates to France for a week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Two seminars will be held in Nancy and Rennes<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The seminars will allow the US and French Ph.D. students to present and share their work on cybersecurity. Workshops will also be conducted in order to study scientific and technological convergences between the candidates.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #266d83;\">Applications for students enrolled in an American university:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Applications can be submitted until <strong>March 10, 2017<\/strong>. Ten students enrolled in an American university will be chosen to participate in the program and a grant will be offered by the Office for Science and Technology and its partners to cover a round trip ticket to Paris, travel within France, accommodations and most meals. French citizens enrolled in an American university are not eligible.
