Deadline is April 9th, 2017<\/span><\/h3>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3814 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/project.inria.fr\/siliconvalley\/files\/2017\/03\/TJF_245-150x150.gif\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/h5>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">This new program launched by the French Embassy and the FACE foundation aims to encourage and support cooperation among the most promising young French and American researchers, and foster forward-looking collaborative research that addresses the most pressing global challenges.<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Up to nine Franco-American projects will be selected. Each selected project will receive a maximum of $20,000 over a period of two years.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applications are accepted in the three following fields:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h5>Humanities and Social Sciences (SSH)<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h5>Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h5>Science for Society (interdisciplinary STEM-SSH projects)<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The most innovative projects involving important transatlantic mobility, collaborative research activities, the organization of joint workshops or conferences, the publication of joint articles, and the participation of younger researchers (PhDs) will receive the highest priority.<\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The grant will cover travel expenses between France and the US, accommodation costs and a part of the organizational costs of joint conferences, and of publication costs.<\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Partner researchers are encouraged to obtain \u00ab in kind \u00bb and\/or \u00ab in cash \u00bb co-funding from their institutions or from other sources of funding to cover all other types of expenses necessary to the successful implementation of the joint research project.<\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Proposals must be jointly submitted by one American researcher and one French researcher at the beginning of their career with a mid- to long- term position at a research or higher education institution in the United States and in France.<\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Interested parties are invited to get more information and apply here:<a href=\"http:\/\/face-foundation.org\/thomas-jefferson-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> http:\/\/face-foundation.org\/ thomas-jefferson-fund\/<\/a><\/h5>\n<h5>Calendar:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5>Submission deadline: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>April 9th 2017, midnight EST<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Announcement of the selected projects: <strong>June 2017 <\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Launch of the selected projects: <strong>July 2017<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><em>For more information, please contact the Thomas Jefferson team: <a href=\"mailto:thomasjeffersonfund@ambafrance-us.org-us.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thomasjeffersonfund@ambafrance-us.org<\/a><\/em><\/h5>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3825 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/project.inria.fr\/siliconvalley\/files\/2017\/03\/FACE-Embassy-Logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"284\" height=\"88\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Thomas Jefferson Fund is now accepting applications!
