


{"id":72,"date":"2016-08-14T19:06:52","date_gmt":"2016-08-14T17:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/project.inria.fr\/realms\/?page_id=72"},"modified":"2016-08-19T03:41:08","modified_gmt":"2016-08-19T01:41:08","slug":"technology","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/project.inria.fr\/snowhow\/technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Technology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The technology\u00a0we are deploying is built around <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linear.com\/products\/smartmesh_ip\" target=\"_blank\">Linear Technology\/Dust Networks&#8217; SmartMesh IP<\/a>.\u00a0SmartMesh IP low-power wireless networks\u00a0achieve unsurpassed levels of networking resilience, low-power operation (over a decade of battery lifetime), reliability (&gt;99.999% end-to-end reliability), and scalability with advanced network management and comprehensive security.\u00a0With over 50,000 networks deployed in the most critical applications,\u00a0SmartMesh is a proven technology. Since a SmartMesh IP\u00a0&#8220;just works&#8221; out of the box, we can focus on our application.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are using the devices from <a href=\"http:\/\/metronomesystems.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Metronome Systems<\/a>, which build around SmartMesh IP. This includes<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <strong>NeoMote<\/strong>, which features a PSOC Programmable System of Chip to interface to sensors and actuators, and SmartMesh IP mote for the networking part. The NeoMote allows us to integrate virtually any sensor into the design while not\u00a0having to worry about the network.<\/li>\n<li>the <strong>Metronome Systems Network Manager<\/strong>, which features a Linux computer and a SmartMesh IP Manager, packaged in a ruggadized elements-proof box. The Manager allows us to run our Python basestation firmware\u00a0durectly on the Linux distribution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<style type=\"text\/css\">\n#foogallery-gallery-264.fg-justified .fg-item { margin-right: 1px;
