2D Model for species / pollution interaction

Numerical simulation of the coupled system of larvae and pollutant dispersion.

The pollutant is released from a source that mimics the discharge of an outfall from a desalination plant. The pollutant particles are transported by a non-stationary sinusoidal velocity field, representing periodic currents generated by tides and waves. The larvae are transported by the velocity field and are affected by the pollutant concentration, which causes local biomass losses. The interaction with the coast is capture by significant boundary conditions.
