On 14 November 2025, Paul Maurer defended his PhD thesis entitled:
Analysis and approximations of some stochastic differential equations for non-diffusive phenomena, <\/em>

Francisco Bernal’s mathematical engineering defence<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On August 29 of this year, Francisco Bernal<\/strong> presented his Mathematical Engineering thesis<\/strong> (memoria): “Stochastic modeling of the movement of Chilean abalone and red sea urchin larvae to evaluate the effect of changes in environmental salinity<\/strong>,” advised by Kerlyns Martinez<\/strong> and H\u00e9ctor Olivero<\/strong>. The thesis received the highest grade, and the jury highlighted the statistical analysis performed on the available experimental data. This thesis was developed in collaboration with Patricio Winkler in the context of the associated SWAM team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poster presentation at Ocean Festival <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On May we participate in Ocean Festival<\/a> with the poster “Quantifying the environmental effect of fresh-water production”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first SWAM Workshop in 2024 was hosted by different Chilean institutions, including Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile thorugh the ECIM, Universidad de Valpara\u00edso through the LabOceano and Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n through Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Matem\u00e1tica. This event brought together a diverse group of SWAM members, including researchers and students, to discuss and explore the latest advancements in the context of the Project and methodologies in their respective fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
