Modelling by means of appropriate partial differential equations, as well as the proper numerical treatment of these equations, as well as field aspects are covered by the courses. Two more general key notes are also foreseen, one dedicated to alert systems, the other to the numerical study of real tsunami events. All talks will be in english.

The school will take place in the week April 25-29, 2016 on the campus of applied science of the University of Bordeaux, allowing also interactions with scientists of the applied math (IMB) and mechanics (I2M) departments of the university, of the Inria Bordeaux Sud-Ouest research center, and of the CPU excellence cluster funding many related events (cf. page Links and related projects). There is no registration fee, however the number of participants is limited so if you are interested in attending you must register (see How to attend page for details).

Registration deadline : March 15th!

*Hokusai’s woodblock print “The great wave of Kanagawa” used in the middle panel above is often associated with a tsunami.
