Title: Numerical models to study the cerebrospinal system

Abstract: Recent studies have shown that blood and cerebrospinal fluid flow in the cranial system plays an important role in the the proper functioning of our brain. The complexity of the dynamics of these flows complicates the understanding of certain pathologies.
A simple 2D model of the brain compartments containing the cerebrospinal fluid, based on numerical simulations and MRI data, has been then developed to simulate the interaction of this fluid with blood and studied the influence of different parameters, such as heart rate, on these flows.
