Hierarchical Matrices applied to Maxwell equations

In this work we will present some results of hierarchical matrices for solving Maxwell’s equations applied respectively on electrostatic or magnetostatic applications , electromagnetism (EFIE case) and optics.

The first case will present a comparison between ACA, HCA and FMM. In the second part we will compare HCA and ACA for SER problems and study performances of direct and iterative resolution with H-LU preconditionning.

In the last application, photonic crystal fiber, ACA and principles of H-Matrices will be applied on the case of a block matrix with some sparse blocks and some full blocks compressed by ACA. The non linear solution of PCF implies this linear system solution at each step.
