Description :
In a global context increasingly aware of climate change challenges and the depletion of current energy resources, it has become undeniable that advanced technologies for industrial applications and the efficient use of renewable energies will be the cornerstones of modern economies and future challenges. This globally strategic theme integrates : Circular economy powered by advanced technologies ; AI optimization for renewable energy systems ; Smart grids and intelligent energy management ; Climate technologies and carbon-neutral innovation ; and Digital twins for sustainable infrastructure.
Schumpeter (1912) highlighted the relationship between innovation and economic cycles, presenting a theory of economic evolution and transition patterns. Analyzed within the framework of economic cycles, the horizon of 2020-2030, according to Kondratiev’s cycles (1926), marks the beginning of a new era of production, industrialization, and technological transformation, now characterized by the rise of the green economy and the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) in various domains.
The 5th. edition of the CITED’2026 aims to foster research collaboration and reflective discourse on establishing sustainable economic development through technological advancements, optimal resource utilization, and renewable energies. The integration of Generative AI offers new opportunities for modeling, simulation, and decision-making processes, enhancing the efficiency of green technologies and economic strategies.
For researchers, technologists, and R&D professionals from both public and private sectors, CITED’2026 will provide a platform to present, exchange, and evaluate scientific research, innovation, and development initiatives contributing to the emergence of the green economy in the AI-driven era.
