During the first year, different activities were carried out :

  • Visits of Papa Fary to Wimmics team to defend his thesis and to discus on MoReWAIS project.

    • The objective of Papa Fary’s thesis was to set a sociocultural sharing platform allowing Senegalese communities to share and to co-construct their cultural heritage. To ease the use of the platform, MoReWAIS project’s proposes to explore the specificities (advantages and constraints) of mobile-enabled knowledge sharing platform. In indeed, the mobile connection is more and more available in Senegal but the quality differs from one zone to another. Thus, MoReWAIS project will increase the use of the platform.

  • Recruitment of PhD student Mahamadou Touré : a thesis project started in May 2016 following a call for sub-regional applications within the framework of the African Center of Excellence in Mathematics, Computer Science and ICT (ACE). The thesis whose subject concerns “Access mobile for web of data” is thus co-financed by the ACE project and will be done within the framework of a cotutelle with Wimmics from 2016/2017. The first mobility of the doctoral student, Mr Mahamadou TOURE, within INRIA is currently underway (November 2016 – April 2017).

  • Local PhD meetings : several meetings were held in Saint-Louis between Moussa LO, Papa Fary DIALLO and Mahamadou TOURE to discuss the PhD thesis project and, more generally, MoReWAIS topics :

    • May 30, 2016: discussion around the work of Lucas Costabello
