The PaMPA software, coupled with MMG3D, allowed one torefine of a 43 million elements mesh into a mesh comprising more than one billion elements.
It took 20 minutes, on 280 Broadwell cores with 4GB of memory each, to generate the remeshed mesh. The resulting mesh was used to run one of the most accurate simulations ever computed using the LES method, related to the study of combustion in a helicopter turbine chamber, for Safran Helicopter Engines.
