Introduction

The mission of the Rencontres is to present the latest advances in scientific computing, modeling, and numerical analysis and to interconnect the corresponding academic and industrial communities. Each lecture is supposed to have an explicative part, accessible to a general audience, and a specialized part, with illustrative numerical results.

The Rencontres merge the Modeling and Scientific Computing Seminar of Inria Paris and the Numerical Methods Seminar of the Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions, University Paris 6 (UPMC). The seminar usually takes place the 1st Monday of the month at LJLL and the 3rd Monday of the month at Inria, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m (see the forthcoming program).

At LJLL, the place is the seminar room 15-16-309 of the Jussieu campus (how to come); at Inria, it is the “Jacques-Louis Lions” lecture hall of building C (how to come). An identity card is necessary to enter the Inria research center. We welcome you from 10:45 a.m. with a coffee.
