Associate Teams Program is one of the main tools offered by Inria International Relations Department to support bilateral scientific collaborations and promoting and strenghen Inria international strategic partnerships.
An Associate Team is a joint research project between an Inria project-team and a research team abroad eligible depending on the priorities of the Call (Inria-Brasil is among the priorities each year since its creation). The two teams jointly define a scientific roadmap with a clear added value for each of them and a program for bilateral exchanges and joint workshops.
The call for projects is published each year in June with a deadline in October. Successfull projects will last three years and receive a funding from Inria about 6 000 – 9 500€ /year.
Some projects are co-funded by FAPESP (FAP of Sao Paulo) though SPRINT program. The renewal of agreements with other FAPs is currently explored.
Each year, some slots are reserved to support strategic international partnerships and Inria Brasil is part of the priorities of last years. The post-doctoral student is recruited by an Inria team in France to work on a Franco-Brazilian project, during a period of 1 year up to 2 years, with visits to the partner abroad.
