FAQ

When running PLASMA Lab from Java Webstart an error message appears reading “Your security settings have blocked a self-signed application from running”

Since Java 7u51, Java webstart applications require to be signed with a trusted certificate in order to be used under high security level. We don’t have such a certificate. To use PLASMA Lab with Java Webstart, you need to lower your Java security level to medium.

PLASMA Lab doesn’t doesn’t launch using icedtea (Java Web Start) on Linux. PLASMA Lab throw a NullPointerException when starting from icedtea (Java Web Start) on Linux .

We recommand using Java Web Start from Oracle, which is more stable and doesn’t run into this error. A workaround to this issue is to configure icedtea to show console on startup.
