Roberto di Cosmo spent all week of 23-28 March 2025 in Brazil to present Software Heritage and meet with researchers and institutions working on Open Science, Responsible AI and software engineering.
He has been giving a series of lectures at LNCC in Petropolis,

in Rio (PUC Rio, UFRJ)

and in Sao Paulo (USP).

Feedback from Roberto: Our discussions spanned multiple verticals—Open Science, Responsible AI, Cybersecurity, and Software Engineering—showing clearly that Brazil has a vital role to play in shaping the global digital commons. We left each institution with new partnerships in mind and renewed motivation to integrate Software Heritage into diverse academic and research infrastructures.
The depth of expertise, curiosity, and hospitality encountered in Brazil reinforces my belief that the future of Open Science—and of a shared digital commons—will be bright, collaborative, and inclusive
