M. Mrosek (Volkswagen AG) had a secondment to SISSA, Trieste, Italy in response to the objective 1 of work package 3 of ARIA project: “To improve the robustness of the Reduced Order Subspace w.r.t. input parameters”.

The purpose of the secondment is to develop a projection-based Reduced Order Model (ROM) for automotive vehicle aerodynamics with geometric parametrization. The main work includes:
- Training in the application of the ROM library ITHACA-FV for OpenFOAM
- Application of Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD)-Galerkin ROM to the Volkswagen ARIA vehicle aerodynamics test case
- Investigation of the neural network accuracy for turbulent viscosity
There will be one publication foreseen in relation with this secondment.
