C.Núñez Fernández from Virtualmech had a month of secondment in July 2023 at Inria to work onTime-Splitting method for Navier-Stokes equations for Finite Element Method in order to do a Full Order Model (FOM) and a Reduced Order Model (ROM).
The transfer of knowledge activities were mainly on time splitting method is a method to uncouple the pressure from the velocity in the Navier Stokes equations by a time splitting scheme that significantly reduces the computational cost. A large number of theoretical and numerical works have been published that discuss the accuracy and the stability properties of such methods. This types of method are proved numerically by Finite Volume and Spectral Scheme, but never with Finite Element, so we try to implement by FE and do it the corresponding ROM.
