FAPESP announced the result of the call for the creation of Applied Research Centers (CPA) in Artificial Intelligence, launched in 2021 under a scientific and technological cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), Ministry of Communications (MCom) and the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br).
The proposal to create the Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence for Renewable Energies was approved. The new AI Center has the participation of the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC) through its Research Groups in Applied Mathematics, Computing and Data Science, and its vice-coordination. The Center’s headquarters are at the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Engineering Research (COPPE) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with researcher Alvaro Luiz Gayoso de Azeredo Coutinho as its coordinator.
Inria researchers are interested to participate in the Center as external collaborators and Dr Patrick Valduriez (Scientific Director of Inria-Brasil program) participates in the International Committee of the Center.
