SBBD is the official and Brazilian national event on databases of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). This leading Latin American forum is a key event for database researchers, practitioners, developers and users, to explore cutting-edge ideas and results, and to exchange techniques, tools, and experiences. The event consists of different technical sessions, including invited talks, tutorials, and mini-courses given by distinguished speakers from Brazilian and international database research community. Its steering committee is currently composed of six members of the SBC (Computing Brazilian Society), including Fabio Porto from LNCC.
For the 2020 edition, Patrick Valduriez gave the tutorial “Principles of Distributed Database Systems: spotlight on NewSQL” . The event was organized by the Informatics Department of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio, Brazil) and took place online.
