Victor Vianu is currently the holder of an Inria International Chair within DAHU Research Team. This program will give him the opportunity to strengthen during 5 years this collaboration initiated in… 1983!

What team do you work with? And in which field?

I work with the Dahu team at ENS Cachan, on the verification and analysis of data workflow (data driven workflow). Our collaboration began in 1983, it’s been 31 years! And my collaborators have stayed the same in the three teams that followed – Verso, Gemo et Dahu. The position is for 12 months spread over 5 years, so I’ll be there regularly over the next 5 years.

What does this position bring you?

It allows us to continue this very beneficial collaboration that has been around for a long time, and we can plan and pursue it in this team. More generally, ENS Cachan is an advanced environment for specification and verification. Hence the name – the specification and verification laboratory. It is the ideal place for our research.

What advantage does this position bring you?

I can make more regular visits. It’s easier to come. And it also gives the collaboration greater visibility, not only in France but in the US too, which is always useful.

Why do you spread the visits over 5 years instead of 12 consecutive months?

It works well this way because I wouldn’t be able to leave my lab for one or two years, so it’s very practical!

And even after five years, are you hoping to pursue these joint projects?

Yes, of course!
