A5 siliconValley2016The 6th annual Inria@SiliconValley workshop with California partners: Paris June 8-10, 2016

The annual BIS workshop is part of the joint research program Inria@SiliconValley. It is co-organized by Inria and its partners in California.  The objectives of the workshop are to present the current status of ongoing scientific collaborations and to work on proposals for future ambitious joint projects.

BIS’2016 is organized in partnership with CITRIS, The Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society, and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (see the page of The Science Office @ the French Consulate in San Francisco) and will be hosted by Inria on June 8-10, 2016 in Paris.

As for the 2 previous editions, the event will be structured around plenary and parallel working sessions to promote collaborations as much as share our findings and visions.

Several hotels can be booked online from the official website of the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau: http://en.parisinfo.com/, “Hotels & accommodation” section.

June will a very busy period in Paris as the Euro2016 Football championship will take place in Paris. So we strongly recommend you to book your hotel in advance in order to guarantee availability and the best possible rates. Booking through Internet usually offers discounts (Internet or early bird special rates).

Also, Inria Teams in France have access to hotel booking through the Oreli application (expense debited directly from their team budget).

Visiting Paris

Paris is a close-knit and welcoming place with a pleasant climate. The Seine cuts across the city and two woods on either side offer a breath of fresh air. Indeed, Paris has been blessed by nature. From Lutetia to the Napoleon Bonaparte Empire, from the declaration of the Republic to the Paris Commune: Paris was right at the heart of events that marked French history and shaped its present.

There are more than 40 museums in Paris, France, from egyptian antiquity to XVIII th century painting in the Louvre and from Impressionists to Modern Art through Orsay and Picasso Museums. For more information, see the Paris Tourism Office website.
