STEM Chateaubriand Fellowship
(Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics)
2016-2017
The STEM Chateaubriand Fellowship program targets outstanding Ph.D. students enrolled in an American university (U.S. citizenship is not required) who wish to conduct part of their doctoral research in a French laboratory for a 4 to 9 month period. The Office of Science and Technology and its partners provide a monthly allowance (up to 1400 euros/month, depending on other sources of funding), the round trip ticket to France and support for health insurance abroad. This fellowship is offered by the Office for Science & Technology (OST) of the Embassy of France in Washington in partnership with American universities and French research organizations such as Inria through the European and International Partnerships Department. It is a partner of the National Science Foundation’s GROW program.
STEM Chateaubriand fellows are selected through a merit-based competition. All Sciences, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) and Health disciplines are eligible. Knowledge of French is not mandatory and is left to the discretion of the host institution.
The deadline for applications is January 20, 2017
