The Thomas Jefferson Fund is now accepting applications! Deadline is April 9th, 2017
This new program launched by the French Embassy and the FACE foundation aims to encourage and support cooperation among the most promising young French and American researchers, and foster forward-looking collaborative research that addresses the most pressing global challenges.
Up to nine Franco-American projects will be selected. Each selected project will receive a maximum of $20,000 over a period of two years.

Applications are accepted in the three following fields:

Humanities and Social Sciences (SSH)
-
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

Science for Society (interdisciplinary STEM-SSH projects)
The most innovative projects involving important transatlantic mobility, collaborative research activities, the organization of joint workshops or conferences, the publication of joint articles, and the participation of younger researchers (PhDs) will receive the highest priority.
The grant will cover travel expenses between France and the US, accommodation costs and a part of the organizational costs of joint conferences, and of publication costs.
Partner researchers are encouraged to obtain « in kind » and/or « in cash » co-funding from their institutions or from other sources of funding to cover all other types of expenses necessary to the successful implementation of the joint research project.
Proposals must be jointly submitted by one American researcher and one French researcher at the beginning of their career with a mid- to long- term position at a research or higher education institution in the United States and in France.
